Cold starting issue part #2
Ok another question on cold starting! Today I took my bike to work. 4am -5Pm.I start my bike at home with everything off and charger On.sometimes after work if it's real hot an humid out bike will fire uP.if not I have to repeat process. Well this time it wouldn't stRt so I decide to run and pop it. to my surprise it fired up! So my question is , what am I bypassing or what could I narrow it down to by poping clutch? Once started bike never dies and will start up great till cOld again. Any advise, I mean ANY,would be great!
This is happening to me aswell. Yesterday I poked up some jumper cables to a car and she fired first click from cold. Battery charger says it's good but I don't think it has the amps to start it. New battery on order today and see if that fixes it.
A weak battery can certainly be the culprit. With a weak battery, the starter motor draws a lot of current, which doesn't leave much for the ignition system. So you get a weak spark. When you push the bike and pop start it, you're not using the starter, so that leaves all the battery power for the ignition. I think you're on the right track by getting a new battery.
