The clutch on my 1996 f3 does not grab until I let the clutch all the way.my question is is that something I can fix by adjusting the clutch cable?

This is how mine was when i got it. I adjusted a little at the top on the handle so far and its better. I do need to pull the plastics and do it down on the clutch side.

To where it is comfortable for you as long as the cable adjustment is allowed.

was just about to ask the same question. Mine is the same way. Its about 75% of releasing the clutch before it engages.

what i did was release the bottom clutch cable adjustment nut and let the linkage go slack and then pull it just tight enough little by little untill you have the right amount of play at the hand clutch with i think is between 3/4 and 3/8". sombody jump in if i gave bad advise

Basically, 1/4 to 3/8" free-play at the lever. As soon as you take it up it should start to pull on clutch. That assures that the clutch fully disengages without lowering the reaction time/control of the clutch lever.
