Ok, I really don't want to go dis-assemble my scooter, to verify this.
It looks to me like the fuel-supply, coming from the carbs. Then some-kind
of fuel filter? It has never been hooked up? Where does the bottom side of
the box go to? Sorry if I'm vague, but I'm tring to picture it in my head and
I'm having trouble visualizing exactly how it should look.

I may go out and try a peek, a little later, right now I'm kinda in relax mode.
Hopefully, one of the guru's will take the bait, pop on to tell me what an idiot
I am, and tell you what you really need to know. ;-)

Good luck, Ern

That's an air hose, it goes to the air solenoid for the ram air. The hose goes left, then at the big black box it runs a hose down and around to the right side of the air solenoid (the side with one hookup). The black box has a drain in-case carbs flood with gas it drain the gas off that gets into the air lines to keep gas from getting into the air solenoid. If you don't have it hooked up then I can assure you this is your problem.

Go to bikebandit.com or one of the other wedsites that has oem parts, You can pull up a diagram on there and see all the parts you are missing.

Sorry for the vague answer, I'm just really busy right now. do a search for ( Finally fixed flat spot ) in F3 section. you can see a quick way to rerun the hose's and bypass the air solenoid

EDIT: here is the post I'm talking about:::: https://cbrforum.com/forum/cbr-600f3...83/#post840830

Do as this post say's but hook hose 5 directly to the carbs in the missing spot. Should work fine

Run hose like this.
The two ends are two different size's, so you will have to get a hose that fits air box and fight with it to go on carb side. It will go trust me. This should take care of your problem. I assume you have weak to no power (bike won't climb in rpm) (and or) a horrible flat spot when trying to run.

Not sure but looks like you are missing fuel pump also, I highly recommend putting one back on it. It won't run correctly without it. there are many threads about aftermarket fuel pumps. Just do a quick search. I think one from a old carb honda accord works great.

check out some of the pictures and diagrams on page 4 of my build thread. there are 2 big pics that show how a bypassed air solenoid should look. i would post them into this thread too, but they are not my pictures... i snagged them from fat head's build thread on custom fighters and dont really want to post his pics everywhere without his consent

That's the same way I showed him, You just have the left hose go to the choke air intakes, and the right side go to the middle. It works same either way.

Quick question because I plan on attempting to clean my carbs as well. What can I do to avoid the need to sync them; I fear I am not of the skill level to do this and I just can not for the life of me figure out what is wrong with my bike...

(Shadow)
You will have to synch your carbs if you want it to run right. There's a how to on it......
