charging system ???

I'd be getting under the seat and checking all the plugs for signs of corrosion or bad contacts.
While your there you may want to dab a bit of dielectric grease onto all the contact points as well.

I threw my r/r in yesterday and everything seems fine so far. Got a question though. The first time my r/r blew my battery it sent a surge and blew out my headlight and my tach. All the other gauges work and all the fuses are good. Any ideas what is wrong with the tach? Do I need to buy a whole new gauge cluster?

I would start with the connections. The fuse would have popped before the gauge fried. That is why we have fuses...I think.

Yeah it did blow a fuse but I replaced it. I need to check the wires and connections to make sure they are in tact.
