It is aftermarket and the part number is 10-106. My bike was turning over if the battery was fresh but the bum r/r was frying every battery that I put in it.

I don't think that you've been paying attention to others' reasons for purchasing a r/r! Their batteries are dying as a result of hig voltage charge and such.

You have a good battery that isn't dead and isn't dying on you by morning. Your bike
cranks!!

You have a different problem with startup that should be addressed in another thread-

Any update???

My bike is doing the same thing! Drains the battery and dies!! Sounds common. r/r=Voltage regulator...yes???

OK, did some research and found that this is a common problem. I am going to replace the voltage regulator. Found a great artical:

http://www.vlc.com.au/~justin/about/...g_replace.html

I want to put a Suzuki R/R in but I am afraid it won't regulate the voltage properly and fry more expensive components. Everybody says it fries because it overheats. Maybe it is possible to relocate the little black box (R/R) to a spot that has better airflow over it. I will look at it in the morning!

God bless the Internet!!!!!!!! I am 99% sure I diagnosed the problem without leaving my front room!
