Default Chain question

Hey guys can I use a DID 525 Master link on a stock chain?

I need to remove my chain off the bike (1998 Honda CBRF3) which I'll do using a chain breaker tool, I need to get a new masterlink though to reconnect the chain.

To be honest, at the time I'd like to stick to the current one, I've spent a bit too much thus far on the bike this year.

Or would you guys recommend just getting a new sprocket and chain? The bike now has around 21k miles, nothing is loose and the sprocket seems in decent condition.

I'd want stock sizes and gearing, no point of changing something that's been working for me thus far, steel sprocket.

with 21,000 miles I would recommend getting a new chain and sprocket kit man you might as well so then you don't have to worry about changing it later on in your rides

Jason, normally I'd agree... Replacing it would be around 1hr labor, maybe a few months down the road, once I get a few side jobs... considering I just had to dish out 85$ for the chain tool, I'd like to hold off temporarly... if I could get 1 more season from the chain and sprocket, I'd be super happy.

Yes, you can somewhat say I already made up my mind regarding buying a new chain/sprocket... unless I find one at a decent price and good brand/quality.

Apperantly the OEM masterlink is cheaper than the DID

What size is stock F3 chain? 525 or 530? If its 525 then sure it will work. Sizes have to match even for the master link. F2 stock is 530... F3 probably the same, but I am not sure.

From what I remember;

97/98 F3 is 525
95/96 F3 is 530
