Default CCT wont budge

So my CCT was going and i ordered an APE one, but before it got here i was just going 35mph down the road and all of a sudden got a crazy terrible rattle and im hoping its just the old CCT and it just went completely. I'm installing the APE one now but cant seem to get the OEM part off the bike, i didn't make the tool to wind up the spring but i from what i got in the stickies u didn't necessarily have to... So my question is: How hard is it to get the OEM CCT off the bike? Mine seems to be stuck (bike is 14 yrs old) and before i try to loosen it with further force i figured i would ask here.

Thanks for any input
