cct question?

Default cct question?

so i ordered a oem cct from a local shop and i just got the part a i think its the wrong thing. it is a 1/2 foot long piece a plastic with a piece of metal running behind the plastic and at the top there is a hinge with a threaded bolt attached, any help would be very helpfull. Thanx in advance..

Sounds like a cam chain guide.If I remember correctly,those are expensive (90-100 bucks or sumpin like that). Whay you need to put on it is a manual cam chain tensioner.

where can i get a manual cct, the shop told me that they only can get the oem and not a manual one/

You can get the manual CCTs from Ebay, but the OEM CCT works just as well. The manual you have to set... the OEM you install and walk away. In addition, the cost of both is about the same.

yeah I must say I would go with an OEM they are easier as there is no maintainence and last a good 15000 miles +.

I have seen people over tighten with a manual CCT and then break the Cam Chain. The end of the story was... the engine was FUBARed.

Well,that may be true,but,they ain't hard to adjust.It's simple,really.
