CBR600F3 1995 project bike £500
I've got an F3 that has been sat in the garage not doing a whole lot for the past few months since I haven't had the time to fix it up and honestly I don't see myself wanting to at this point since I have now purchased an RR.
The bike had been in a relatively low speed crash October last year and given it was winter I didn't see any point restoring it until later on so around March I started getting everything sorted.
I spent quite a lot on it, I have listed all the things that have been done in the last year or so below and whats not listed there is that after I did most of that the bike was looking great and running really well, I had just repainted the fairings and was extremely happy with it when a deer decided it didn't want to live anymore. I hit it at around 40mph, this did of course ruin all the front end fairings and damaged the side fairings so the bike will pretty much need a full set but I do have some pieces lying around. There isn't any structural damage and forks are straight.
Essentially the engine is sound, starts and runs just fine the only things that it could do with from a performance perspective would be fork rebuilding (I have new seals and oil so just time that is required) and the front callipers would benefit from being rebuilt since there is some brake drag, I also have a seals/rebuild kit for both front callipers so it wouldn't cost anything other than time.
Electrics seem mostly fine but I previously did have some wiring issues which had caused some of the controls to not work however currently no problems and none of the problems I did have would effect the bike if its going to be used for track. Starter motor works perfectly and the battery holds its charge, I've never had a problem getting it started even after leaving it for a while. There is no rear brake light switch fitted but i have the part i just never got around to fitting it, front brake light works fine.
Jobs done within the last year:
Carbs sonically cleaned
Fuel filter replaced
Chain and sprockets changed <1k miles ago
Front braided brake lines fitted
New pads front and rear
Rear shock replaced with one that was recently rebuilt and in good condition
Race clip ons fitted
Oil+filter have been changed very regularly
New air filter
Coolant changed
Road 6 tyres - loads of tread left
Reg rec replaced
Battery replaced
Cam chain tensioner (CCT) changed
This bike requires some work but nothing major, as mentioned it could do with front suspension/callipers rebuilding but aside from that the only thing it needs is a new set of fairings.
Any questions let me know and if anyone is interested in buying it I can take some pictures and provide more information I just wanted to put a post out and see if anyone is interested.
