Default CBR600 F3 no or low compression - might be simple to repair

Hi!

I recently had problem that the engine would only start with throttle (Other wise just small pop, nothing more), then even with throttle it wouldn't want to start at all.
Note that the engine probably need to be "high" mileage for this to happen and also the valve was long due. Mine was 60k km or 37k miles.

Long story short, I did a compression test, here is the result :

Stay calm! Equip yourself of the service manual, pretty easy to find and search how to check "Valve Clearance".
My exhaust valve was all in spec, but my intake valve was all at.. ZERO!

Yep! Zero clearance, suprising that the engine was still running fine, so when the valve was supposed to be "closed" the camshaft was still touching the valve. Then keeping the valve open = lost all compression. Basically shooting it back in the carburator.

One of the eight small shim to replace for the valve adjustment:

5$ CAD each ship, total of 45$ CAD and the engine started like new.

Hope it can help someone, if you have any question feel free
