Carbs to be removed
I've removed and loosened everything that needs to be done to take off the carbs "Except" the two screws on the engine side of the rubber manifolds. They are blocked from view from the right side rear engine mounting plate and the coolant casting that is on the engine. Why in frick??!! does the manual make it out as a simple step? Any suggestions to get at these 2 screws so I can take ny carbs off.
Thanks, Eddie

It sounds like the insulators have lost their elasticity. I have had to use a cherry picker and tie downs to pull them off. Essentially, You're going to have to use leverage to get them off. Be VERY careful to not push/pull on anything such as the choke lever. I used the S hooks from the tie downs to hook onto the metal spacers between the individual carbs. Once you have them off, I recommend that you replace the insulators. Air will leak pass them and you won't get a good tune on the carbs.

Thats is such an annoying issue, good luck with that, really long and skinny screwdrivers or super short screw drivers may help depending of position, or better get a cherry picker. If your open to replacing the gaskets, get a dremmel tool and cut them, be care ful though and cover up intake holes and so fourth as not to get stray metal shavings in there. good luck
