Default Carb question?

If my bike idles for a couple minutes after its already warmed up, it runs fine through first and second, but once i hit third or any gear after that it cant hold a steady speed and stutters to run (sometimes if i pull the clutch in it will stall out). Would that just be dirty carbs?

It's possible. When did this start happening ? Did it start suddenly or over time ? Tell us some history of the bike, how long have you had it, how many miles on it ? Things like that. It sounds more like a fuel pump issue, but hard to say for sure without more info.

ive only had the bike for about 3 weeks now. it has 17,000 miles on it and ive put about 700 on it, but it just randomly started doing it one day. it seems like it only does it when it wants to like its kinda random sometimes it will do it and sometimes it wont. dont know when the carbs were cleaned last tho

At 17,000 miles it's most likely that the carbs have never been cleaned. However this sounds more like a fuel pump problem than a carburetor problem. Take a look at my "How to Repair The Fuel Pump on Your F3". You should be able to tell fairly quickly if that's where the problem lies. It's easier to fix than to pull and clean your carburetors. All that being said, I still think that you should clean your carburetors and get them synchronized. I imagine that you're not doing much riding this time of year so there's no time like the present to get that done.
