carb boot trouble
i bought some new carb boots, put them on the engine. Now the far carbs(3 and 4) dont seat even. 1 and 2 go in fine, but i have to hit the carbs with a piece of wood to get them close to going down. Cant get them to go back on even. I was wondering if any one else had this problem with something blocking it from going back on correctly? From what i can see its not caught on anything but i know i never had this much trouble putting them back on. I took them off to clean the motor, and paint the frame. Then i saw my carb boots were cracked!
If I remember correctly...
Check to see if they are seated on the carbs properly. They have a rubber tab
that seats/detentes to the carbs. It keeps them from rotating when you tighten
the hose clamps to the bike. If those aren't lined up right, they might be holding
themselves off, on the carb end (thus making some of them too long).
