Cali Cams
Hey does anyone know how to tell if you've got cali camshafts in your bike? Like can I measure the lobes and compare them to the cali specs (does someone have those?)
I know I've got a cali engine because it had emissions stuff on it at some point, but I only discovered today that they had different camshafts than non cali bikes. Seeing that cali bikes cams have a different part number confirmed this.
Also do cali bikes have different valve clearances? Would swapping the cams change the valve clearances? I checked them way back when I first got the bike and found that the all the exhaust (I think) clearances were off by about the same amount. Seemed odd that only they were off and the intakes were fine.
Does changing the cams out actually make a noticeable difference? Would it be worth the time for a street only bike anyway?
