Default boot question

hi;
im new owner of 98 f3, and new member...
quick story short...i picked up 98 f3 as a project bike...
bike didnt start, i cleaned carbs new sparkplugs and battery ...yeay it started i run it for few minutes. being a project bike i didnt go faster then 20mph...then i put it on the stand went thru gears got it like to 50mph...my temp gage is broke and bike started to fill hot so i turn it off...
next day i did more troubleshooting and fan switch/groung is bad...no problem i bypassed it...then i tryied to srart buke again and no think...it turned but didnt start...i even used starter fluid..just flooded sparks plugs...dryed them put them back, recharged batt and tryied again ...nada... so i took cars out again and im in the middle of cleaning them...now my question...bike came with some spare parts...and 2 diffrent carb boots the one on the bike were short ones and beat up i also found secend set in the box ...maybe 1/4 or 1/6 inch taller and in better shape...
which boots are correct for f3... or any other sugestions how to get bike running...thanks
patryk

If its the same as my 96 the boots should be about 24mm long.

the stock boots are 25 mm long and have an inner circumference of 40 mm on the end that connects to the engine.

Tall ones are for your bike!!! Short ones came off of a f2. I just bought some short boots from a shop and was wondering the same thing a couple of weeks ago!
