Default Body Conversion

Hey everyone.....iam new to the motorcylce scene and am purchasing a honda cbr 600(f3) in the very near future for my first bike. I was just wondering if there was any way that i could do a 03-05 cbr 600rr body conversion to the third generation cbr. i was talking with a kid that is going to school for custom motorcycle building and he was saying that the frames and everything are the same it was just be a matter of finding the plastics peices..But i wanted to talk to someone who new a little more on the topic and had maybe more experience.... If anyone has any advice or pointers or even any forums that they know of that have covered this topic already it would help out a lot...thanks a lot

Not worth the money believe me. Just buy a used 03 or something and it will probably cost less in the long run and alot less headach. Better engine and better suspension not just better looks.

if you really want to do it...... if can be done.... you just either have to drill new holes in the plastic or custom make you new mounting brackets for the new plastic... but like stated b4 if that is what you want to do just buy and 03 and save the trouble... plus it doesn't look that great i've seen it done and you can tell that it's not a new bike....

What year f3? They do not look much different than the new ones. Mine is a 98 and red and half the people that talk to me think its brand new. I mean if they knew there bikes they would know it wasn't. Maybe in a couple years I will buy a newer one but for now it is an awesome bike. I'm sure the chicks won't think any less of you.

thanks a lot for the advice cjbettis....i think i will just wait a while and save up and buy an rr once i become comfortable enough with my bike.... and i will definately post pics once i get my bike!

As for transamlt1's post: I was thinking of either going with a 1997-98. Yea my best friend actually has a 98 and when he got it i thought it was a brand new bike. ( I was one of those ppl you were talking about that didnt know their bikes lol) so i think im just going to stick with the 97 or 98. and haha yea i definately dont think chicks will think any less of me...at least i hope not!

Yea if you can find someone that kept a bike in great shape that would be sweet. And you would save alot from buying a newer one. Plus when you go to sell it, you will not lose much money if any. Depending on the shape it stays in. Buying a new bike you really lose alot of money when you go to sell it. Good luck

Definetly go for the older bike. I get tons of compliments on my 93 f2 almost daily. You have pretty much the same power as a new bike, but at 1/3 of the cost. Just try to find one in good condition that hasn't been abused, and you're set.
