From your latest post, where you mention, "popping the tank-cap"
Definitely, check you breather tube, it's on the bottom of the tank.

You can try either a soft piece of wire or compressed air to remove any blockage.

If you DO use compressed air, KEEP the gas-cap OPEN.
If you don't, you risk balloning the tank. That can be an expensive boo-boo.

Good luck, Ern

I was going to wait to check it out when I install my HIDs but since it could be something so simple I might tackle it tonight... really hope it's just that. Thanks again for your advice, I appreciate it!

Checked out the breather tube and overflow tube. Nothing was wrong with them, air went through perfectly fine.

Is the breather tube supposed to connect to something? It was connected to something at the bottom of the bike.

I think it might be the fuel pump. It only happens when I'm less than 2 gallons. But once it hits below that it runs terrible. Will replace it asap and let you guys know how it goes.

To add on to my list of problems... I was riding my bike last night and the new HIDs I installed started to flicker and then cut out. Then I pulled over, was checking the wiring, and accidentally blew the 15 fuse so my dash/turn signals/tail light went out. I figured out it was the fuse today but I still can't figure out why I can't get my headlight to work. I changed both the HID bulb AND ballast and it still won't turn on. Changed the fuse. Nothing.

Also, my bike died AGAIN and I had to ride it about 20 miles home in 3rd gear the whole time because it would just die in 4th or higher. It was sputtering the whole time, it was terrible.

Could it really be my fuel pump? I checked the contacts, they are fine (at least when idleing)
