Bike pops out of 2nd
Hey guys, my bike has been giving me problems in 2nd gear, and I've finally nailed down what it does. When in 2nd gear sometimes it will "pop" out into either neutral or 3rd. It seems to be load based as I can bring it all the way to redline in 2nd slowly and it doesnt do it, but if I push it alittle it will jump out around 7500-8000 rpm.
Anyone have any ideas of what this may be? It seems to jump to neutral more than it does 3rd, but it will do both. I thought it was my shifting, but it doesnt matter if I slam into second from 1st, or barelly bump it in it does it. I can ride in second for miles at 4-5K RPM, but as soon as I hit it it will happen.
Thanks alot!!!
Ryan

Bent/wornshift forks and/or 2nd and 3rd gears. My 929 has the same problem... Grrr....
The solution is to replace the worn/bent parts. I've read aboutt he process on a handfull of CBR's and from what I have gathered, if you're mechanically inclined it shouldn't be too difficult. Gets expensive if you're payng someone to do it.
I priced what I could for my parts and came to around $250. Check www.ronayers.com for their online microfiche to find your part numbers.
Good luck!
