Default Bike died on me! Help greatly appreciated!

Hey guys, I just bought my 95 f3 a few weeks ago and it had been running great until tonight. The only problem I had before tonight was that if i made the idle less than 1500 it would bog down when i got to around 5k rpm and wouldn't go any higher. Tonight I was driving home and the same thing happened. I tried making the idle higher but it didn't help. I couldn't get above 4k rpm and it eventually just completely died. I tried restarting but wouldn't run for more than a few seconds. So I had to walk it a few miles home. I have no idea what could be wrong with it as I have done nothing different since I got it. If you all have any ideas I would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks for your time,
Aaron

mine did that a while ago, except it would start back up. I drained the gas tank and put fresh gas in it and its been working fine. best i can figure it was bad gas.

do you know how long the bike was sitting before you bought it from the previous owner? iif it was a while i would say it could probably be just bad gas . if it wasnt sitting and was ran consistantly i would dig deeper into the problem. maybe you were just low on gas ! (easy fix [sm=signs003.gif] lol) did you notice any lagging sensation before you couldnt rev above 5k rpms? good decision on getting the f3 btw i loved mine so much i might be getting another one

Thanks for the replies guys... I know it had been sitting for a few months before I got it but it ran fine and i put a fresh tank of gas in it already so I don't think its the gas. What do you mean be checking the vacuum hoses? what should I be looking for? Thanks again all!

YEah definitely think is some sort of gas delivery problem. Are you sure it has gas? Also, be sure youre not running on reserve? Last I would check fuel pump, make sure its pumping what its supposed to.
