Agree with you smee, thats why i bought the bike in the first place, to learn. I got some stick from the lads with more modern bikes, but i have learnt so much from riding my CBR. Due to the weight and as it doesnt have as much 'pick up' as newer bikes you have to ride it properly.

looking forward to getting the work done and getting it out on the track. Plan is to get the work done next month.

The snag we have over here in the UK, not including the unpredictable weather, is the cost of track days. you are looking at about £100 for a single day (about $180).

Yea that is about what it cost over here in the midwest. What I have found is there are groups/organizations that you can get deals through. I bought a package for 4 track days for $140 per day, Single day price is $175. Ask around at your local dealers/tracks and someone may be able to point you in the correct direction.

I know that track days are expensive. I have spent over $700 on gear this winter preparing and I got great deals with year end close outs. Small price to pay for safety right.

Best of luck and keep it shinny side up.

Here is my bike. Its a long story on its condition, and i may get around to a rebuild thread sometime. FYI that is the correct location for the gauges.

What tracks are you going to? Change your rear sprocket to a 45t. That will do you well for everywhere except VIR and Brainerd. You'll need a 43t on the back for those tracks.

Get a rear shock.Your stock shock will turn to mush in no time. There are several Penskes for sale in the WERA Vintage section. One comes with a spare spring.

Yea I am currently geared at 16/45. I have a F4i front end on it so I have compression dampening adjustment. A jet kit. Some nice new Bridgestone BT-003RS tires 160/60 & 120/70. Rear shock is the only upgrade that i am still wanting to do but i don't have the funds for it yet. Thanks for the heads up on WERA I had never been on that site, tons of F3 parts.

I am doing track days at the following tracks:
Mid american motorplex, Pacific Junction IA
Motorsport Park Hastings, Hastings, NE
Heartland Park Topeka, Topeka KS.

If there is anyone else doing track days at these locations it would be great to meet up as i will be a complete noob.
