Default 98 carbs on 96?

been having major carb issues with my 96. found a guy who works at the honda dealer who had a 98 f3 with a set of freshly rebuilt carbs hed sell me. so i bought them. tore off my carbs to notice a slight difference. the carbs on the 98 has a tps and coolant nozzle looking things and mine dont. as well as the jets differ between the two slightly. but other than that, everything else is the same. EVERYTHING else is the same. i was wondering if anyone believes they would work or have run into this situation

thanks,
Kevin

I dont have a F3 but, I would think the 98 carbs would work on your 96. Since you said your 96 dont have "tps". I believe its just a type of sensor that would send a signal to the ECU or ECM what ever you want to call it. And since your is a 96 it might not read the signal from the tps anyway, I would think. I thought about trying F3 carbs on my F2 and the response I got was they should work, just dont worry about the tps or coolant passage in the carbs. But I thought all F3's had tps, but you say your dont. What the hell. Would you do me a favor and snap and post pics of your F3 ram air set up and where all those carb/ram air hoses go. I would like to ram air my F2. Thanks.

Sure would appreciate the pics. Did what said make any sense about the tps? Does your bike still have the tubes that run to the front of the ram air back to the carbs somewhere that pressurize the float bowls?

I read your other post, you think your F3 is an F2, F2 engine anyway. Check out the cam tensioner swap out sticky. The F3 tensioner is longer than the stubbier F2 tensioner. Also the diagram thing the other person posted will help with the F2 ram air conversion. Thanks
