Unhappy 96 f3 First Gear Problem

Hi,

I'm new to this form, I've been browsing for a while and I've gotten a lot of good information here. But I'm having a weird problem:

My bike starts, and idles fine, reeves fine.

But whenever its in first gear and I release the clutch, no matter what, the bike dies. I tried keeping the reeves at 7k and slowly releasing but no go. It also usually miss fires when it dies.

However, its not the kickstand. I've replaced the spark plugs recently, and switched out the clutch and break levers because one was bent.

I've taken a look around the net and haven't really found a solution to this problem.

Thanks,
Dan

+1 to both questions, above.

It almost sounds like the neutral indicator switch, answers to both of the above
questions will help narrow it down.

Hey guys,

I think I found out the problem. I actually go the bike running and got it so it went around the block.

The bike cuts out if the choke is off, even if the bike is warmed up.

I also found out one of the spark plug wire hardnesses (which plugs into the back of the spark plug) is broken and doesn't allow the spark plug to sit in there, thus getting no electricity.

Also when the bike went around the block it had very little power, but I'm thinking that's just the spark plug causing the engine not to work properly, etc.

Okay so what I thought would be a solution isn't a solution..

The bike starts fine, won't run without the choke on though, just stalls out. And it stalls if started in first gear. I haven't tried 2nd yet, kinda of gave up on it for today.

Any suggestions for when I got out next?

Also if I pull out the 4th spark plug the bike stalls... doesn't happen if I take out the 1st.
