Smile 95 CBR600 F3 Brakes grab

Hi all

Just bought myself a 95 F3 and I seem to have a front brake problem,

when I pull up to a stop everything is fine but as it slows down to about a walking pace the brakes start to grab, I'm not sure what it is because you can't feel any pulsing on the lever and the pads have lots of meat left on them, I did notice the brake fluid is bright green like radiator fluid? has anyone ever seen brake fluid that colour?

any opinions would be appreciated!!!!

Cheers
Rob

Wassup bro, Drain the green stuff and put new brake fluid in there and bleed your brake system.More than likely your system has air in it.But i would deff get rid of the green stuff! pictures of the green stuff would be nice.

G'day Ed

I changed the fluid and took it for a test ride and it was going good but then it started pissing down rain so didn't get to heat em up,

here is a pic anyway (it may not work, I'm a noob)

I'm still getting the grabbing, anyone think its possible that the pads are really old and gone bad?

you know i have kinda the same problem, they just seem to grab occasionally. But with mine its nothing to bad you can hear it when i walk the bike back, its a little screeching noise. now is there something specially different from bleeding brakes on a car to a bike? Cause I know how to do it on a car and i cant see it being much different but im just curious?

mine doesn't screech and it only does in when riding and not all the time, other than that they work fine.

the bleeding in simple and same as on a car, on the F3 you have to do the right one first (from a sitting on the bike postion).

full procedure is here https://cbrforum.com/forum/stickies-91/brake-bleeding-fluid-change-600f2-f3-models-110088/

Check your rotors! maybe they are warped(don't know just a guess).Change rotors and pads. You might need a new caliper.?Just throwing some things out there, but i would check the main stuff.

I don't think it's the rotors for 2 reasons, 1 you can't feel it in the lever? and 2 it doesn't always do it, in fact since changing the fluid like you suggested it is doing it alot less and seems to be getting better the more I ride it, I took it up to my local hot spot and flogged the hell out of it on the week end and that seemed to have helped.

I have now decided it's something I can live with so long as the condition is improving.

Thanks for your help mate, did you check out the pic of that green fluid?

Rob
