CBR600 front brakes binding
Hi
Ive just changed front pads on my cbr 600f cleaned the pots so no crud gets pushed back into the caliper. The MOT bloke failed me as they were binding. The old pads were not binding.
Its a 51 reg and I do about 7000 miles a year on it. when the old pads were out I pushed the front brake to fully extend the pots and then cleaned them.
Do I have to split the caliper to do a full strip down or can I just get the pots out without splitting.
the new pads are sintered if that makes any difference.
When the front wheel is off the ground and spun it only free wheels for about a quarter turn.
Is it the new pads, do they need bedding in or something.

all new pads need to be seated. you need to make some hard stops, but dont come to a complete stop. just make several hard stops from say 100-10 kph. you might also try bleeding the brakes. alot of times newer pads aren't made to the same specs as OEM. they mght be thicker pads and just need to be worn a bit before they stop binding.
part of the problem also is your discs are most likely grooved. you can usualy feel a ridge where your old brake pads made contact with the disc. you need to wear the new pads to match the wear pattern on the disc.
