Default 520 chain question

hey guys I picked up my f3 last fall from a guy who knew nothing about motorcycles and treated it horrible for the two years he had it and so therefore he failed to mention that he had a k&n air filter and a few other things so how do i tell if i have the 520 chain conversion?

I would take off the chains master link and go to any bike shop except a harley dealer and ask them to match up the link.

BTW clean up the link before you go to the dealer. You don't want to hand the person behind the counter a oily sticky nasty master link, they just might toss it in the trash on you.

You can measure the distance between the inside side plates and tell what size it is.

Size Distance
520 6.35mm
525 7.95mm
530 9.53mm

Also:

520 = 5/8'' from pin to pin & 20/80'' wide [1/4'']
525 = 5/8'' from pin to pin & 25/80'' wide
530 = 5/8'' from pin to pin & 30/80'' wide [3/8'']
