Hi, I am new to this site and curious if anybody can give me some advice on where to go next. I got a 95 f3 I acquired on the cheap. In the process of putting on f4i/600rr fairs and tail, didn't come with any fairings...

Now to the point, bike sat for years, prolly 3 to 5 at least. Pulled the tank and flushed it, pulled the Carb/bowls/jets and throughly cleaned. Put a new fuel pump/ filter. Spark plugs. Checked any fuel/vacume lines/ Carb boots. I have checked or replaced pretty much every thing I can think of. The bike starts great, revs great, I get on it and it rips thru first gear and second but when I hit third or forth it like it running outta gas or the bowls are empty. If I let off for a sec and get back on it, it will rip for a sec then cut out....

Any help will be much appreciated!

Check your float settings. Maybe they are too high and shutting off? Really sounds like a fuel pump issue though. As the bike needs more fuel with a higher load, if the pump isn't supplying it, it will do what you said. Be careful though, a lean bike blows engines

 

I thought the same alienjoe. I checked them twice. And like I said anything and everything to do with fuel, spark.. I have been reading about this air solinode thing and would have never thought that it can play that much of a role being the f3's are ram air. Soo I have my fingers crossed that's it. Hopefully get a chance to look at it within the next week or so, been working crazy hours!
