hey guys, new to the forum but have been reading for a while. so heres the story, ive been riding for about a year now on an 1100 virago (cruiser bike) and decided to get some more power so I found a 96 f3, has 20k miles, runs and rides great but the previous owner dropped it..twice, once on the left side taking out the left rear fairing, and once on the right, cracking the access fairing and breaking the upper right fairing, everything else is fine. got the bike for $800 so I think I got a steal but now im trying to find fairings, the tail is easy enough and was $40 on ebay but I cant for the life of me find an upper right.

my question is will the upper right from a 97-98 f3 fit my 96, I know they made slight changes but I don't want to buy it and have it not fit. anyone know? or have one I can buy? I did search for a while before posting but couldn't find anyone ask this question, so sorry if I missed it but help is appreciated. thank you in advance!

It will fit. I'm doing a fairing swap in about a month with mine with either 600rr or f4i fairings. While you're replacing fairings you may as well update the look of your bike a little and do a conversion

 

Thanks for the info, an f4 conversion is certainly tempting, i may attempt the tail for now but will probably wait on the front end, sounds decently expensive for the plastics, guages, an the new fairing stay, would make a good winter project
