I went down to the bike and there is a few small drips coming from where the gear shift lever goes into the engine - appears to be sealed with an o ring. Never had a problem until I changed my oil (rotella synth if it matters) and then went on a 300 mile trip. Did I break something? Is it just time for the seal to leak? It looks/feels like regular engine oil.

 

That seal wears out every so often. I've gone through a half dozen or so. It's like $3 and takes a few minutes to replace. Just try not to damage the shift shaft when removing the old seal.

 

So you're saying when I was spewing explitives and kicking stuff in my garage when I saw it that might have been an overreaction

Hey Marc, how have you gone about changing this seal? When I did a once over on my F3 a year ago I bought the seal and after lookin at an exploded view of it I was under the impression I'd have to pull the shift shaft thru the opposite side to get the shaft out of the way so I could pull and replace the seal. I'm guessing there is an easier way??
