1998 CBR F3 Price
Hello all I am new to the forumn and have a question for you all. I am looking at a 1998 Honda CBR F3 with 8000 miles, clean body, and never laid down.He provided the following information about it
"last year, painted it black, all new decals, new head / tail light ( LED Flasher) new led turns ( all of them )
new wind screen, DG pipe, Carbon fiber look mirrors and grip tips.....
just was looking to give it a new look, plastic is all good, seat is good, new battery last year... has been sitting in the cold all winter, have not checked the battery yet.... New chain and sprocket last year"
He is asking $3500 for it. What is a fairprice and is there anything I should be concerned about?
Thanks!

Unless he left the battery on a charger the whole time you'll need a new one, almost guaranteed.
New paint is sometimes used to cover up crash damage. Something to consider.
I don't know why he'd need a new headlight. There's no such thing as LED headlights to my knowledge, but the tail light was probably just a customization.
Carbs might need to be cleaned if he didn't drain the tank, turn it to off, or put fuel stabilizer in the system.
Although the chain and sprocket might be fairly new, make sure they're clean.
I'd offer $3100 if it checks out alright and go from there.

closekd, I actually just bought a 98 f3 with 10,000 miles on itabout 10 days ago from a guy who had an ad on craigslist. The bike is basically stock exceptfor a custom exhaust pipe.I paid his asking price $3300. I thought this to be a couple hundred dollars high however he had the bike being serviced for $400 (carb flush, spark plugs, new battery, oil change, etc) atthe same shop my mom gets all her harley work from and she called up there and i called up there andtheir mechanics were all more than happy to giveme the down-low on the bike. It checked out and they said it wasrunning great so i agreedfor the askingprice. The guy also threw in a joe rocket textile jacket and helmet which was helpful considering i didnt have either.
The bike is theredf3 with black stripes, i will hopefully have a picture of it sometime soon. I have beenriding it and it runs great and im excited to havemy first bike and to get some good info from the people on this forum.
