whining noise in 1st gear, wat can it be?
My 1st gear seems to whine when im coasting to a stop with the clutch not engaged (clutch lever is pulled in all the way). When clutch is engaged (clutch lever is not pulled in) it seems to still make a whining noise. When I am applying gas, the noise goes away. When I down switch to 1st gear with the clutch engaged so bike does not stall while coming to a stop, it whines. It only happens in first gear. Does anyone have any idea what it could be???? Please help....
yeah, mine does this too. even though you have the clutch disengaged...first gear is still engaged, just not to the engine. i'm pretty sure what you are describing is normal gear whine... lonewolfcbr is right, pretty much all manual cars do it in first... even in reverse too
it is louder in revers in a car because it is not a helical cut gear. From the sound of my bike in first gear i would say it is a spur syle gear too but idk for sure as i havent been into the transmissoin yet
