Talking what size tire can i go with ?

while i have my back rim off for bearings and rubber cush damper replacement id like to replace my tire ...does anyone know what size tire i can go with...i do remember a thread where someone got bashed cause the bike didnt need a bigger tire but lets face it ..the stock 160 looks rather wimpy from behind...id like somethin a little wider as long as it doesnt present a safety issue like a big loss of drivability when u go wider...let the bashing begin haha just kidin...but honestly what do you guys think?

oh yeah..i always forget something....my girlfreinds dad has an impound yard for the police and its chocked full of bikes that people never register or insure ..so they get taken and sit until their date with the car crusher ...anyway i can take whatever id like from them....theres a couple bikes i have in mind but mainly a 600 rr wit nice exhaust (undertail of course) and other mods....what can i take from this that would be of use to my f2? how different is the rim then mine internally or could i take it off and put the rim and tire right on my bike? this would save me some cash and hassle fixin my rear wheel issues

I'm running a 190 on my stock F2 rim, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend that for anyone else. I went that big because I drag race a lot. I may even drop down to a 180 next time, and/or try to find an F3 or F4 rear wheel, which I believe will be .5" wider.

This has been beat to death and i haven't even been on here that long.

You CAN fit a bigger tire on stock rim, as he said ^^^ not your first choice for a daily driver.

They didn't put on a 160 for no reason, thats all the bike needs.

Want a wider tire? Buy a newer bike or get an F3 rim and run a 180.

gotcha ...sorry to get you all sensitive there Mr. ls1 ....i just want a better look while i cruise whether the bike needs it or not....my questions was a yes (it will fit with no mods) or No (it will rub something kinda question)...not a lets jam down this guys throat that his bike is fast enough to need it kinda question....as a matter of fact if i was itchin to criticize id mention the fact that my bike sits behind a 550rwhp lt1 caged connected and teched to go 9.90s that would prolly make ur bolt on bike and car look just plain silly ...but we can chat bout that another time....p.s i seen an older cbr today wit a nice size tire so i talked to the guy and he was pretty happy with the performance...thanx for the reply though

Just curious 99LS1, do you ever run your F2 in the 1/4? If so, what does it run?
I get a kick out of spankin liter bikes every now and then.

im assuming when you guys say something about using a stock f3 wheel that the axle diameter is the same and i can just swap it right onto my bike....that would be great cause i have access to one that i can switch my wheel with and it already has a nice back tire on it

Fat tires are for posers, not riders.
