Thanks for the advice Steve, but I put a brand new OEM oneher and it didn't change the noise a bit. (Yes, I primedit first!!) People on here have been raving about the manual ones and I'm willing to give it a try. I'm nothing if not careful with my baby.

At least being external you can adjust them easily..
My first road ride ..a Kwaka 900... I had manual one in her..with no issues ..
I actually wish the buggers would come out with one for the CBR1000's ..
I would have a good look at them ..no probs mate

I was thinking with exchange of stock tensioner, $20.

If you are exchanging them.... .then .it sounds like you are modding them ??
A bit more info and a pic would be good ..

Yes perhaps... but its a catch 22 situation..[:-]
You don't show?? ...and no one is going to give you 2 cents ...
I know of no one that will pay anything without at least seeing what they are getting my friend
Looks like std factory replacements are for me then ..?
On this forum alone there are posted 2 mods for them that are easy to do, but I know of no one that has tried to copy them... so I think you are safe ...
Most would just rather pay the little amount of cash and get one posted out to them .,.

Hey ya know, if you can show me what a stock 1000F tensioner looks like, I'll try to figure out an upgrade for you. I'm certain the 1000F tensioner just needs to be redesigned a little to be a permanent thing.
The design I'm using is technically not my own design, but I'll modify your stock CCT for you for $20 to cover the supplies and time along with shipping. or just swap tensioners with you.
