I run a single cable, works ok for me

Then I went for a ride!!!!
I'm ready to start year 25 with this bike and it's going to be a good one.

Yeah, the bodywork is all original.
The forks, swingarm, bar ends, centerstand, muffler, footpegs and a few other parts were powdercoated.

Yeah, and Russian roulette works ok for some for a couple rounds.
Doesn't mean it's a good idea to play. It always ends badly for someone by round 5.

Do you want to go through life "Being Smart" or "Hoping you get Lucky"?
I know which one I'm picking.

Although I completely understand your way of thinking.. I have owned plenty of bike with single cable and never had an issue.
Each to their own though everybody measures risk differently.

Also funny you mention the Russian roulette.. a friend of mine who does not ride often used the same comparison regards riding bikes full stop.

This isn't just my way of thinking or evaluating risk.
No modern bike in the last 30+ years came from the factory with only 1 throttle cable.
There are very good reasons for that. It's pretty much universally agreed that it's a really bad idea.
There are so many ways it can go wrong and absolutely no benefit only having 1 cable.
So why do it?

The other issue here is publicly posting that it's ok and you've never had a problem is a bad idea.
Some noob comes along and reads that, takes your advice and then hurts himself.
Is that what you want?
Or worse, you open yourself up to being sued. I've seen it happen.
Again no benefit and open to the risk. Just not worth it.
You have every right to risk your own life, but not other peoples.

Not trying to come across has harsh, just something to think about.
I'm kind of a cranky bitch today.

I am sticking to my guns here mate. In my experience I HAVE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH SINGLE CABLE THROTTLES. I am sorry but it's just the truth.
I shouldn't need to leave disclaimers at the end of every reply to make sure i have satisfied all the snow flakes.
End of conversation.

Got the tank, the brake lines and the fuel line with a quick connector back on.
