The newer bikes have wider tires because those bikes are set up with wider rims and vastly improved suspension geometry.

No matter how hard we wish our bikes could be as cool as new bikes, they will always be old technology and perform the best just as they are. (to an extent)

 

OK then i'll live with what I got for now until something else comes along.I guess the 160 will be what I stay with.Unless hmmm what about jack shaft it with a pm wheel and a 260 tire.Yeah let's try that.Nah not on a 100 horse sport bike.Thanks for the advice.I shallreturrrrrnnnnnn.

If I can get my scanner up I ca prove you wrong on that one.Made 75.3 hp at 12300 rpm@10.2 a/f.With a messed up set of carbs.Bought a set of newer carbs went to a 7 series spark plugs,new coils,changed the corked up vance and hines to a d&d that I cut 6" off of,dropped the neeldes one notch,and put in a new hrc filter.Made 104.7 @ 13100 rpm @ 13.2 a/f.My old carbs was filling the cylinders up with gas even at highway speeds.
