Transmission replacment
My bike pops out of second gear.. Assuming that the shift fork is bent I would like to replace it. I have a complete motor from a wrecked f2 (minus the head) that has a trans in perfect condition..
my question is will it be easier to just swap transmissions or should I just replace the bent fork and gear thats causing the problem?
Has anybody written a "How to" on shift fork replacment? If no then does anybody know of a manual that will give me the best instructions on how to do this? Not just a few pictures and a paragraph.. Thanks very much...

Being a cassette style transmission, it's fairly easy to swap the new for the old.
Have you considered swapping the head from your running motor over to the wrecked engine and avoid splitting the cases?
If you decide to swap trans parts let me know and i'll guide you through the process.

I would love to swap motors but the casing on the clutch side of the donor motor is pretty messed up.. Its pretty much beyond anything I would want to repair. the good news is that I always have tons of extra parts if I need them..
As for the parts swap I am going to go through with it so any info will be appreciated..

I'm going to sleep now, but I will help you as much as possible.
When you're ready, begin by removing all bodywork and electrical components from the subframe and motor.
You'll be pulling the engine out of the frame so be sure you have a large clean work space to do this in.
Equip yourself with some masking tape and a sharpie marker, as well as a box of ziplock bags to keep everything organized.
Label the electrical connections with the masking tape so you know how everything goes back together, and keep bolts/small components in the ziplock bags (labelled).

My best guess is that one of the forks is bent but I am not a doctor so I think I just need to open her up and do some brain surgery to try and see what is wrong.. lucky for mr i have a perfectly good donor trans to swap out for.. Now I know that I am going to have to drop the motor which is cool because I would like to clean her up a bit anyhow, but I am hoping that I can access everything through the oilpan and clutch area so i dont have to split the cases.. Would this be practical at all?
