Top End Noise At Odd Times??
I recently bought a 1994 CBR F2. Runs great, supposedly has a bit of motor work done to it. I'm experiencing some top end noise on the upper right side of the motor. Kinda near where the cam chain sprocket would be. It sounds alot like weak valve springs when they wear out, just to give an idea of the type of sound it is. What happens is when I start the bike COLD there will be the rapping sond. Then when it WARMS up after a couple mins the sound is completely gone. Then lets say i've been riding for a bit, bike at normal temp, stop for gas.Shut it off, pump gas(2-3 minutes),fire it up and the sound returns but not for more than a minute. Very random timing, not everytime I shut it off does this happen, so very confused?? Should i just ignore it because it's an older bike and it's not all the time? Oil pump weak? Cam chain tensioner worn out? Any help would be very much appreciated!!

Could be cam chain tensioner.
But I found out that if you have worn out or broken exaust gaskets, this makes also a lot of noise when it is cold and after heating the metal expand and becomes noiseless.
While chaging my oil pan gasket, I had to remove the exaust and found out that there where broken exaust gaskets. A few stud bolts also where bad so they where all changed with new.
Now it run's like a charm, and the gear shift has never been better. Smooth and precise.
I bought it with 50k on the clock and now it say 70k.
