Metric sockets, metric wrenches, 22mm socket or wrench for the axle bolts, 16mm deep socket for spark plugs (iirc), rubber or similiar soft faced mallet, needle nose, regular pliers, telescoping mirror, magnetic pickup tool (trust me, you will drop something in the bike eventually), torque wrench.

Think that's about the basic necessities

 

I just bought a 241 piece socket set at 2/3 off regular price . . . keep an eye on the lyers and weekly specials, there's always a store out there with a stupidly good deal going on something useful.
