Question Too much play in the throttle??

I was riding home today and as I was rolling the throttle back, I suddenly felt a slight "roll back" from the throttle without actually accelerating. Well when I ride now, If I change gears, I let off the throttle to change gears, But when I get back on it there is about a quarter of a turn of play before it actually starts to physically pull the cable. Basically there is slack on the throttle right now. I can move it forward and backwards... Any ideas? I'm thinking that maybe my cable is partially snapped...

The throttle play is adjustable, I think. Maybe it slipped a bit? As I understand it, there is supposed to be some play, but I find Kawasaki's factory setting too much play. But technically I know nothing.

I know a little bit of play is normal, But this is literally about a quarter turn of play... Not normal...

I just opened up the little black housing to see if the wire was torn and it is... But there are 2 wires that are attached to the throttle.. Why are there 2? i ripped the one that is closest to you if you are sitting on the bike... Anyone know how to fix this??

2 wires because one pulls throttle open and the other pulls it closed (throttle return cable)

If you broke the cable you will need to replace it.... not a hard job.... probably have to remove the carbs to get the cable into place.

hi G-Shock
I only just did mine today, your lucky not to be left stranded like me lol. But i did remove the carbs in the end as it was just to fidley to get my big hands in ther. Other then that it was pretty strait forward.
Remove sides, seat, tank, airbox, choke cable & carbs (if needed), unscrew thottle and swap your cables.
Hope this helps.
cheers

Yes, it's underneath the carbs. MASSIVE PITA. You have to take half the bike apart. Last time I had to do it, I just paid a shop so I didn't have to.
