An F2 isn't very heavy, and power is relative. I had a street driven 600 hp (+ 300 hp of nitrous)Big block Vega for a few years, soI know how fast tires can disappear. A friend of mine convinced me to try a set of (his) McCreary Road Star DOT dirt tires on the Vega one time, in the equivalent of about 2 1/4 mileruns, half the tread was GONE. He said "Remind me never to loan you any tires anymore", although he was present for the testing. If he hadn't seen it for himself, he never would have believed it. I wound up running some softer, larger, McCreary GT series non DOT dirt tires (quite a bit larger), and they lasted great compared to anything else I ever had on the car. It was a street racer, so traction was the most important thing, but extra tire life was a plus.

I really like many types and brands, but again that is not the point here...

You are like a dog with a bone mate in regard to this soft hard compound thing Rickracer ...
I personally do not mind who uses what, when or how many million horse power YOU or yu mates truck, pushbike, trike, freakin billy cart, or the the tyre's your neighbors daughter honda civic has on her wheels..... none of that means squat...
To seriously try and use that drag racing example above, is so far away from the point , that I near laughed my head off ...[sm=imsmilin.gif] you are a ripper mate .. no question about that
Every thing you say id dead true, no doubt , but where is the similarity with every day bike road use .... ????
So... I will , to spare myself and any other poor unsuspecting ( new rider ) reading this thread, and wanting some sound down to earth logical advise, have another 400hp, huge wheels, 1/4 mile drag example thrown back at me, ask you one more really simple question..
A Question for the kids at home too
If we have 2 identical bikes with the same style riders on them ....
One with soft compound tyre's
One with slightly harder compound tyre's
Both bikes are ridden exactly the same way, in the same conditions, till the tyres wear out .....
...The Question...
Which Bike will travel further or which tyre 's will go further ???? [sm=feedback.gif]

Still workin on the Shingko 190 rear I bought, got 2500 miles on it so far, pics of it yesterday in the 180 tire and fender thread, [sm=hiya.gif] , Im headed to the track one night this week though, and plan to run as much as possible, so we'll see what it looks like next week. [8D]
