Stock tire life? Also Bridgestone 16 vs 21?
I just passed the 2000 mile mark on my 600rr yesterday. I've noticed that the stock Dunlop Qualifier rear is already wearing a lot. The tire is still maintaining great traction, especially since the sides shoulder of the tire still has tread life left. I've come from cruisers to sportbikes (wish I had just started on the sportbike) and didn't know if these tires usually wear that quickly. How many miles are you guys getting from your tires? I'm wanting to keep these for another 1000-2000 miles. I'm going on a trip to West Virginia in June and will have the tires replaced by then. Another question is that I'm probably going with either Bridgestone BTO-16s or BTO-21s and I was looking for opinions. The BTO-21 should last longer but I ride pretty aggressively in twisties and don't want to give up too much performance compared to the 16s.

Haha, I said I just came from cruisers. I'm still getting over just how far I can lean the bike. I'm working on those with time. Probably will do trackdays eventually to improve more.

Just mounted some bt-016's a while back and love them, but honestly, your prolly looking at approximately half the tire life on one compared to a bt-021. Especially if your planning on riding aggressive. Personally when I lean it over I'd rather be upset that I need to get new tires sooner than worrying about lowsiding cause I bought longer lasting tires. Will I push a set of 16's to the limit street riding? No, but it makes me more comfortable leaning hard into a turn knowing the tires capable of more than I am. Everyones different but for me I think of it as buying peace of mind. I prolly couldn't push a 21 past it's limit either, who knows, but the 16's make me feel more secure.
