You used WD40 to install your grips onto the bar? I hope that works.

Protip - Use hairspray - once the alcohol evaporates the sticky left behind keeps everything locked down, without the mess of dealing with the grip glue that is recommended.

I used to use hairspray on my mountain bike grips but there is a problem with getting even just a little water through them. When the grip starts to slip from the ends, it's only a matter of time before the grip can be easily slid off of the bar.

I have since used rubbing alcohol. The wetness allows you to slide the grip and position it and when it dries, there is no residue that becomes slippery with moisture.

Yeah - works great as well, I used to wrench on bicycles in college, Aqua-Net was our secret weapon, but the alcohol was great too.

with lock-on grips now, there's no need of anything - I'm kinda surprised the idea/technology hasn't moved over to motorcycles yet. Would make grip swaps so simple, and I would assume would open the door for more color customization and stuff since the process would be completed with nothing more than an allenwrench.

yes actually it did and it dried up really fast as well and they dont move even at high speeds.. i put just enough on the inside to lube it on to the bar the excess i poured out of the grip so it didnt slip right off.. but yea it worked.. relatively well might i add.
