Starting problem

Usually the bike starts right up, but sometimes it wont and if i back it up or pull forward with it, it will start. So just moving it a few feet will let her start. It confuses me.
Any help?

any noises when you try to turn over? im thinking that maybe its your starter and the moving backward or forward may knock it loose. or maybe check your neutral switch?
