Default slight vibration and grinding noise

So I get on my bike yesterday to come back to school and I notice that when I let the clutch out in neutral it has a slight vibration in the handle and also a grinding noise coming from around the clutch case. Is this noise normal? I just bought the bike a month or so ago and I dont think I heard this noise before. Is it possibly a bearing or ???? Thanks Adam

Very normal. Don't worry about it. There are lots of threads in this forum asking the same thing...

Thanks everyone. I also have a slight ticking noise. I dont think it is an exhaust leak. It sounds like it is internal. Is it the cam chain tensioner? I notice it when I apply light throttle in lower gears. The noise is not as noticable when the bike runs for a few minutes. Thanks Adam

Thanks. I understand that you say the noise I here is normal, but is there a chance that there could really be somthing wrong other than the normal wear? The noise appears to be getting worse. I can really hear it grinding now, no more vibration than before just the noise? Any comments... clutch works good, no slipping. I also notice that it engages into gear very hard. A lot of noise. I am unsure if it was always that noisy when I put it into gear. Are most noisy when placed into gear? Thanks Adam

What kind of noise when you put it in gear? CLUNK... if it is a loud clunk as it goes into gear you probably need to adjust your clutch cable.

Does the grinding noise go away when you pull in the clutch?

"is there a chance that there could really be somthing wrong other than the normal wear? " YES, it could be.... if you are worried you should have a motorcycle mechanic take a look.

Thank You Bender600
Yes the noise does go away when I pull in the clutch handle. Which is why I thought it could be a bearing. Yes the noise made when it goes into gear is a clunking noise. It is very noticable. I used to be into dirtbikes and I know that some of the bikes I had made a lot of noise when puting them into gear and I just deemed it as acceptable, but for the CBR it seems that it should be much crisper.

For Clunking noise:
Try adjusting your clutch cable..... just like the brake cables on your bicycle.... you want to tighten the cable.
this can be done where the cable enters the clutch basket (on engine) or at the handlebars (finer adjustment).

The grinding noise problem:
it shouldn't get louder.... it should go away when you pull in the clutch.... kind of hard to diagnose on the forums.... ask a friend who rides a lot or the local mechanic to listen to it.
