Default slight update

well, i registered here a while back, and received a very warm welcome from all of you!
and i do appreciate it! so i figured it was time for a little update.

since i picked up my F2 I've done some tinkering with it, and found a few problems. my 2 Bros. slip-on was completely shot! so i removed it and now have a new garage ornament haha. as far as aftermarket slip-on's go, i'm looking for something not to loud, but very high pitched. anyone have any suggestions? secondly, the K&N air filter was FILTHY!!! so i need to pick up a cleaning kit for that. One thing that has been troubling me though, is the bike has a slight hesitation around 8,000 RPM's but right around 82-8600ish it stops hesitating and pulls real hard all the way to the limiter, any idea what that could be? the carbs looked extremely clean, so im just a little confused?

Also, i have removed all the fairings, tail section, cowl, gas tank...etc. for painting, as when i got the bike it was flat green and had been dropped (from being stunted) many times. so i'm repainting the whole thing, as well as the frame.
my plan is to paint the frame flat black, leave the wheels black, and paint all the panels a nice arctic white with a pearl base! it should look very nice!!!

i've uploaded a few pictures for your viewing pleasure (probably more like dis-pleasure haha)
i've got my work cut out for me this winter thats for sure! Happy Riding everyone!

Nice work. Are you going to keep the gas tank? I'd say if you're bothering to spray a nice paint job on the bike, definitely get a non-stunt smashed tank. Your hesitation issue could be a number of things. Could be because of your dirty air filter, junk exhaust, old spark plugs, stale gas, or a problem with jetting.

the gas tank is definitely getting replaced!
i was thinking of doing an F4i Tail section as well, but my fabrication skills are slightly lacking, and that will probably be next winter's project.

Also, after removing the exhaust, i rode it down the street open header, just to see what it was like, and the hesitation was still there, but slightly less noticeable. so i'm pretty sure it was not the exhaust. And although the air filter was dirty, i dont believe it was dirty enough to cause a hesitation like this. I could be wrong though.

Could still be an air issue, or a fuel issue too possibly, though that seems unlikely.

hesitation in any rpm range is possible to be a clogged fuel filter either inline or in the tank. also possible to be a pinched/kinked fuel line somewhere, or a clogged jet that you cant see right off. could also be incorrect adjustment of pilot screws.

I dig the flat green, just paint a shark mouth on that **** and you've got a sweet bomber lookin bike.

So your slip on is in the garage? No muffler? That will make it go VERY lean. I had a hesitation at about 11K, but I knew it was lean because I had cut about 8" off my D&D slip on, jetted up to 152s and now it pulls hard all the way through 13.5K. If you've gone from a 2 Brothers to a stocker, it may be rich.
