Several issues
Ive done the research and have come to the conclusion that my regulator/rectifier has finally fried, but i want to take the proper precautions to go about fixing it.
I have a brand new battery that was fully charged and after driving it for less then an hour, i shut off the bike and it would crank over, so i had to push start it, figuring that the battery wasn't getting juice. So the next day i bring it over to my buddy's house and notice a few things, we take off all the fairings and that two things were a little iffy.
1) The owner before looked like he hacked into the WH for something in two places, one was right before the rectifier, it looks like he had tried to branch something off those wires, but properly fixed them and wrapped them, and the other left exposed wires hanging out of the tail, but did no connect to the blinkers. But these are not my concerns.
2) The actual connector to the rectifier is completely missing, it was rigged in the way were the green and red wires were vampire clipped into the rectifier ports, and the yellows were connected via slip-on.
Regardless the bike still ran at that point even when the red and green wires were disconnected, but while a buddy was screwing around with them, he sparked something and from that moment on, the bike got NO power what so ever, wouldnt turn on, lights wouldn't even illuminate. Battery still has 12v charge and such so im guessing something blew.
Now here are the questions, did i fry the rectifier all together or was it on its way out and this was the final blow? Is there a company that everyone lives by for AM rectifiers or do i take the chance with a stock one? Was that the main reason for the bike not charging? Now the biggest issue for me is that plug that was rewired and left to wires connecting rather than the actual plug... what can be done besides buying a new WH. For now i would like the bike to fully recharge itself and be able to ride it without having to worry about if it will run, come the fall season i do plan on stripping the bike and converting it to a f4i so anything that can be avoided or pushed aside till then is my best wished... anyone have ideas?
Thanks in advance

check your fuses. also, don't by another stock rectifier. I'd suggest one of these: http://www.regulatorrectifier.com/ca...ier-p-190.html
I purchased this one from this website and haven't had any problems. As for your wiring... goodluck.
