Default running issues

i have a '94 F2 and just recently i have been have some issues with it. i start it up in the morning, go down the street a few block and it starts acting like its out of gas, bogging, sputtering ect. some times it completely dies and some times it figures it self out. it doesnt always happen when the bikes cold either. i was thinking a possible bad petcock? should i maybe start there?

Vacuum line, petcock, floats, fuel filter, jetting (rich).... All good places to start

Yes, it runs from the intake runner on the #1 cylinder to the small nipple on the petcock.

My bike did the running out of gas thing a bit... turned out to be a kinked fuel tank breather hose. It was creating a vacuum in the tank.... it did take a bit longer than a few blocks though.

i had a look at my bike during my lunch break at work, and after a while i also found a kinked fuel tank breather! so i straightened it out and after work when i went to leave it did the stalling again, but it didnt die, but after that the rest of the day it ran just fine. so im hoping the stalling was just fuel filling in all the gaps in the fuel system after i straigtened the breather hose, cause im really gettin tires of stalling in the middle of intersections!

Its a tank vent issue for sure. My 250RR had the same issue.. however it's tank vent is actually apart of the gas cap. I had to take it all apart, clean it out and lube it up. Now it is fine and has not done it since. I haven't owned an F2 for a few years so I cannot remember how its vent system is run. My recommendation would be to check the whole tank vent system.. Hose and cap if it uses it.

ya my friend was tellin me his old bikes breather was through the cap, but mine has two hoses under the tank, one to drain the overflow and a small breather, now that i un kinked it i can blow into the tank with the cap off and have little bubbles rising up
