Default Issues gettin the hog running again.

I put my bike away about a month - month and a half ago in a trailer behind my house. This was only a temporary move and would be moved into my garage which is warm when I could make room.. which is where it is now. I am having issues getting it started... or even a breathe of life. The only success I had was to actually remove the tank and pour gas directly into the carbs and I received a few seconds of running. With the tank on.. no success at all. Instead of wasting time looking for the problem and getting aggravated I figured I would just ask for an area to look so I can solve my problem faster. So if you have any input let me know.

it may like you better if you quit calling it a hog for starters. you either have a bad fuel pump or a clog in the line. sounds to me like you are just simply not getting gas out of the tank.

lets start with the basics. what year is your bike? That will automatically rule out a bad fuel pump because f2's don't have them.

next, is it getting fuel? disconnect both lines coming from the petcock from the carbs. switch the petcock lever to on position (down) and suck on the smaller tube (the vacuum tube). Does fuel come out of the larger tube? If yes, your petcock is working fine. If no, your petcock is malfunctioning and not releasing fuel to your carbs.

if you are getting fuel, are you using choke the start the bike? If not, try it. If yes, see if you have fuel in your float bowls. Refer to the owners/repair manual on how to check for fuel in the float bowls.

Report back once you've gotten that far.
