Removing top clamp?

Removing top clamp?
If my garage had lights...I'd already know.
To take off the top triple on an F2..you simply remove the stem cap and nut...take off the bars...and lift the top triple clamp "plate" off.
Correct?

I am going to put the stock bars on my F2 below the top triple clamp...for two reasons....
1. Comfort...it's actually more uncomfortable for me to hold my wrist at a strange, unadjustable angle, than it is lean
over a bit more on the tank, and making the bars more 90 degree to me. The half a*** approach of making a sport bike,
then at the last second trying to make it sit like a standard makes me ill...and is lame...imo.
2. It looks and is cooler.
I know about watching for clearance...levers...hands...cables etc.
Thanks...

RE: Removing top clamp?
thats what it looks like to me.. the only thing i see is that the bars have the detents that go into the top triple to keep them straight and from twisting.. how are you going to keep them from spinning when theres force on them??

RE: Removing top clamp?
Oh...BTW...
Without cutting down the fairing a bit...there is just no good way to put anything stock handlebar as a clip-on.
You either will pin your hands against the tank...or a lever...or...___________.
That's ok...I saw a guy in here with a post about $2 rear-sets...
This is genius...should be stickied...
