Default Which Regulator Rectifier?

I did extensive research on the older cbr's before buying my 93 F2. The voltage regulator, rectifier is about as sure to fail as I am to pay taxes. Hasn't fried yet, but I may as well nip in the bud. I really don't want to pay $50+ for something like this and was wondering what the downside, if any would there be to getting a cheap one. I'm thinking about getting this one:

High Quality Universal Motorcycle Regulator Rectifier for HONDA CBR600 CBR900 CB250 CB400 500 : Amazon.com : Automotive

Hey bro...I was in the same boat...I went on eBay search for a newer model...I came across a 2002 VFR 1000, asking price was $40, I gave him a best offer at $25 an he accept. It's a Honda factory RR...even though it is used, 10 years old is a lot better than 20 since my bike is a 94....plug and play...works fine.

Don't know about the cheapie one though?

I rather go used Factory Hondas rather than after market...but $25 ain't bad...if it fail...still wont kill the wallet. Keep searching, there are good stuff coming up.

If purchase from dealer, wow $150

And the 5 pins Honda RR is interchangeable...go for the newer models if you are buying used.

I just bought this one:

Regulator Rectifier VFR VTR Hornet for CBR 600 900 RR | eBay

Comes from China so it won't be here for a bit but it's Winter here so no big deal. If it lasts even for a few years it's worth the $13 I spent. Lol.

not sure how long that china one will work, but there are options, you can go with an OEM replacement which, from what ive heard, is much better than what came stock. or you can get one from a new sport bike, change the connector and off you go

i got mine from an 02 or 03 gixxer, for around $25 + a $3 power connector from radio shack and havent had any problems since.

I figued I'd give it a shot. For $13 if it works good deal, if not I'll go the other direction.
