Can't see why that would not work as long as a 'soft' medium (possibly walnuts) is used and would really bring it up nicely

Yep. I’ve used walnut before and it comes out quite nicely usually
You can buy very inexpensive blasters that shoot baking soda. I’ve never personally used one but have seen videos. They seem like a potentially good solution for a seldomly needed tool.

Looks like BBAB, the C is higher and on a different alignment.
